Duct cover

Versatile Floor Hatches & Duct Covers

The duct covers are equipped with a round EPDM seal at the base and a T-shaped rubber seal along the outer frame’s side, effectively preventing contaminants from entering. Additionally, the spring effect prevents stress between the frame and cover. The duct cover is odor- and water-tight. It is not permanently screwed down and comes standard with a lifting key set for easier opening.

DCL and DCP Duct Covers (Light-Line and Pro-Line)

These duct covers feature a round EPDM seal at the base and a T-shaped rubber seal on the outer frame’s side to block contaminants. The spring action relieves tension between the frame and cover, ensuring a tight fit. These covers are odor- and water-tight, not permanently fixed, and include a lifting key set for convenient opening.

Duct Cover Installation Guide

Duct Cover Installation Guide

Step 1: Placement

Insert the closed duct cover into the opening and carefully set it in place with concrete. Ensure there are no air pockets in the concrete, as these can affect the seal quality of the duct cover later on. Use a level to position the duct cover horizontally and at the correct height.

Step 2: Opening

Allow the concrete sufficient time to cure (at least 48 hours) before opening the duct cover. Remove any concrete residue on the frame.

Step 3: Filling

Once the frame is cleaned, you can reinsert the cover into the frame. To fill the cover, first position the reinforcement mesh. Then, carefully and evenly pour concrete into the cover. Use a trowel to remove any excess concrete.

Step 4: Covering

Afterward, cover the duct cover with the chosen flooring material. If necessary, make adjustments to the surrounding flooring to ensure a seamless fit around the duct cover.

Safety Instructions

  • Shield the surrounding floor area.
  • Always install the duct cover horizontally.
  • Prevent accidents! Do not leave the unfinished duct cover unattended. It is best to block off the area, especially keeping children at a distance.
  • Lift duct covers with the same number of people as lifting points. Never lift the duct cover with ropes, as this can cause severe back and neck injuries.
  • In addition to the above guidelines, adhere to the safety regulations and requirements of the country where the duct cover is installed.

Additional Information for Duct Covers

We recommend opening and cleaning installed duct covers twice annually. Use "Quick-Lifter" keys for this process. The Quick-Lifters are screwed into the four designated lifting points on the duct covers, allowing for easy lifting by holding the key handles. This greatly facilitates lifting/opening the duct covers. All floor hatches are manufactured with 2-4 lifting points, depending on size and reinforcement.

All duct covers undergo strict quality, durability, and load-bearing tests before market release. Upon request, we are happy to provide the necessary certifications.
